Musée de la Mer
In a superb Art Déco building, discover over 150 species of fish and marine invertebrates from the Gulf of Gascogne, and visit the seal basin, the shark grotto and all the collections (cetaceans, birds, ethnology, meteorology, etc.). Come and watch the seals being fed every day at 10.30 a.m. and 5 p.m. - great fun for children and adults alike!

Asiatica Museum of Oriental art 

Asiatica is one of the five leading European museums of oriental art, with a splendid collection of unique works of art. Right in the town centre of Biarritz, the collection comprises over 1,000 works of art from India, Nepal, Tibet and China, ranging from prehistoric to modern times.

Musée Historique de Biarritz (Historical)

Located in an old Anglican church, the museum tells the story of Biarritz, from the little fishing port of its origins to a cosmopolitan seaside resort, the 'Beach of Kings'. The Historical Museum of Biarritz is full of souvenirs of the high points of Biarritz's history, including collections, paintings and videos.

Planète Chocolat

 An original discovery of the universe of chocolate. This unique museum retraces the adventure of everybody's favourite delicacy with an exceptional collection. Exclusive exhibition of chocolate sculptures. Tour and chocolate-tasting session. The Musée du Chocolat is on the road leading to the Côte des Basques. Open Monday to Saturday from 10 to 12 and 2 to 6.

La Chapelle Impériale (Imperial chapel)
This charming chapel was built in 1864 at the request of Empress Eugénie de Montijo. A harmonious combination
of the Roman-Byzantine and Hispano-Mauresque styles, it is dedicated to Our Lady of Guadalupe, the Black Madonna of Mexico. The Chapel was listed as a historical monument in 1981.
Open from 1 July to 31 August on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays from 3 to 7 p.m.

Le Phare de Biarritz (Lightouse)

Erected in 1834, 73 metres above the sea level and 248 steps to its summit, it dominates Cape Hainsart, which got its name from the oaks which used to surround it and have now been replaced by tamarisks. This cape marks the limit separating the sandy Landes coast from the rocky Basque coast. Opening hours: High season: from 1 July to 31 August, daily from 10 to 12.30 and from 2.30 to 7 p.m.
